I didn’t quite understand the purpose of the confrences being held, but i thought the topics of gathering science, academics, art, and busiesness together at one table was interesting. However, i also belive it is very important for researcheres to play video games as well as research them to gain a complete knowledge of the medium before they begin discusions with game developers and publishers, as was mentioned in the article. The idea of bringing the entertainment industry and academic/education developments of video games really intriges my thoughts and ideas for the future of games. I belive the only way to gain the true potental of video games as a marketing product and educational tool is to combine both the entertainment strengths and educational atributes and possibilites together. Imagine a high francise video games like halo or final fantasy utilizing educational attributes in thier gameplay, allowing gamers to advance and recognize skills that could transgress in to real world events ,such as learning how to develope complex stratagies as a team with other players online through the fast paced action enviorment of halo, or morale and ethic values of life in r.p.g games that allow players to make and recognize the short and long term effects of choice in long story based games that would constantly and uniquely change over player’s gameing experience in just one game, with out ever lowering the entertainment values of the game.
I’m a community college student in U.S California and would be pleased if you guys responded back to my e-mail. i would enjoy discussing and listining to this important topic in video games.
P.S:forgive me of any spelling or grammer errors
